Choupette: The Private Life of a High-Flying Cat
Photographer: Karl Lagerfeld
Compilers: Patrick Mauries and Jean-Christophe Napias
This is a book devoted to Choupette, the cat belonging to fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld. His photographs show Choupette as beautifully as any of his Chanel models. While I can be envious of this cats opulent lifestyle, how can I blame her for her good fortune, cat or not? I don’t expect pets nor people that have special advantages to apologize for them. Enjoy, and I’ll make the most of mine. On the other hand, seeing how well Choupette is fed by her owner’s personal chef makes me feel a bit lacking in the care of my own cat. But the book has that covered by including some specially-crafted (cat food) recipes that are easy to follow. Choupette is also named as an “e-cat” as she is featured all over the web, including on Twitter and YouTube. Karl Lagerfeld has an eye for beauty that we see through his Chanel fashions, for one. So it only makes sense that a Birman feline with star sapphire blue eyes, and Baked Alaska-colored fur would always be at his side.
